I don't think that I have dedicated a significant amount of time into reading these holidays, and rather have been reading a book a day: my ABAD campaign.

As of far, I only have to finish Tuesdays With Morrie. I cried/wept/sobbed in every book I have read so far.

The latter two are definitely eye-openers, that while we were still in diapers, people were struggling with the war in Afghanistan and people were still under the cruel rule of the Taliban, not to mention that females were then still perceived as incapable.

Khaled Hosseini's books mantain essence of friendship, forgiveness and grief in both books, and I'm sure that anyone would've wept as well, even a little, otherwise they probably have cut out their heart and left it in a silver casket to shrink and grow hair.

(Note the reference to Tales of Beedle the Bard: The Warlock's Hairy Heart.)

I ship MomoxAppa FRIENDSHIP. Yaoi/Yuri, even though I'm not against it, repels me. Gah.

Stella, getting Camerion Diaz to play Voldemort would be AWESOME. We would have to do a Ralph Fiennes voiceover though, or it wouldn't look realistic. Still, she has the height and thin-ness and all that covered.

I don't see the hype about Christmas, though that may be because I already know what my presents are. Psh.

Now I'm getting goosebumps...

I love reading Ben 10 fanfiction, because they are so varied. One minute you chance on a not-nicely written one, the next you spot one that has a well-planned plot. Maybe because the show is so... varied?

Avatar fanfiction rocks hard too. Just so you know, the awesome action with the kungfu moves described are definitely awe-inspiring. Kicks, punches, jumps, leaps: you name it, they've written it. Pair that with element-manipulating, and you get AWESOME.

Harry Potter fanfiction is probably the best of them all, though. The readers have really, really well-developed characters and plots. However, of course with the gigantic fandom you will encounter many slash and, ahem, feslash fanfiction, along with a wide variety of Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus.

I have no comment on the pineapples.

I'm a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender not for very long, but I'm already hooked on it. As such, I found the following... "representations" for the movie cast extremely disappointing.

I really, really feel like calling the director - M. Night Shyalaman, a whitewasher.

Avatar is a beautifully crafted animated TV series, and I adore it. Now, Paramount Pictures wants to make a live action version of the first season.

I had low expectations: any animated series that has been adapted into a live action movie is a flop. A big, big flop. Imagine if we made a version of Nemo with real fish.

Blub.

Still, if the casting and directing and acting was up to par, they might've been able to redeem themselves. But now, can you PICTURE those people up there, acting as their animated counterparts!?

Everytime I see Zuko on TV now, I picture him breaking out into a song; most notably, "Leavin'", right after he leaves Iroh.

D: I AM DISAPPOINTED. VERY APPALLED, EVEN.

And what's more, the TV show is 100% Asian-influenced: Taoism, Buddhism, Yoga and that sort. The lead characters are SUPPOSED TO BE INUIT/ASIAN.

They use Asian visual, language, culture, and basically ASIAN in the show, so why the hell are they using white actors to play the characters? And why did they choose the PALEST people to play the two DARKEST? That's simply... absurd.

Sure, you may argue: but it's fantasy, and they all have pale skin and big eyes and coloured eyes and it's NOT EARTH!

Me: BUT IT'S THE WORLD OF MIKE AND BRYAN, SO CAN YOU FREAKING RESPECT IT!? And not all Asians have small eyes and dark skin and brown eyes. Asian children have big eyes, and I've seen Asians with green eyes, and I'm an ASIAN MYSELF with not-so-dark skin.

I hoped that the adaptation would've stayed at least faithful to the epicly epic TV show, but now all I can think of is Prince Zuko breakdancing to "Beautiful Soul".

I admit that I've had billions of Twilight vs. HP posts; I don't deny that.

However, are you stating my past posts, or my latest?

Because, in my latest, I wasn't comparing the two book series. I was just stating the influence of Twilight and the effects it had on ONE OF THE TWILIGHT FANDOM'S FANS.

BOLT. I just watched the movie today, and it was not that bad. I could tell that it was not produced by Pixar Studios, but I did see a commercial for an old man who made his house float into the air using A LOT of balloons.

I presume some have seen the movie and some have not, so I'm not going to spoil it. However, it is a heartwarming story, I can assure you. The best part for me was Rhino the Hamster who hails from his exercise ball. He is truly an interesting, laughable-at character.

The animators did do a good job, though some parts were a little draggy. Still, I recommend this movie.

(I went to watch it with my cousins and Aunt.)

Sorry for the use of twitting in the title. I know that "euuuuuuuu" is hard to read.

But, a friend sent me this article and I felt inclined to make a post about it.

And now, let me just say that I hate Bella, Renesmee, Edward and every character in Twilight except for the other Cullens who actually have an INTERESTING PAST and also, Jacob. At least until he imprinted on an infant.

This is my first time posting here, mainly because I really feel this story needs to be told. First a little background, so that this story makes a bit more sense.
I work in a lab at a hospital. My job is lab assistant so I basically do a little bit of everything, but a big part of my job is entering in all the results from tests that we can't do in-house and have to send to other places. One such test we send out is a newborn screen. Once a baby born at our hospital is 24 hours old we go up and draw blood from them, then it gets sent to a genetics lab which does a generic screen to let parents know early on if their child may have a serious medical condition. Because the babies are so young when we send out their blood work most of them haven't had their legal names approved yet, so we send out the tests under their mom's last name, then boy/girl mom's first name. When the results come in a week or so later whoever enters in the numbers also makes sure the baby's new legal name is on the documents. This is what I spend most of my morning doing.

Now, normally I barely register what the names actually are because after seeing one million different spellings of Jessica (Jessycaugh was by far the WORST) and other designer names for kids you start to loose faith in humanity. But about a week or so ago I got one that made my brain literally cease all function...*drum roll please* Renesmee Bella was this little girl's new first name. Now, I also get to see the first letter of the middle name and if I so choose I can go find what the middle name actually is. This particular name had the first letter S. Which I automatically decided stood for "sucks"...because really...it was all I could do to help keep my sanity. But no, this poor child's name was Renesmee Bella STEPHENIE....and that's when I think I blacked out for a little bit. Kid's mom? Like 15. And from what I found out from the doctor she hooked up with some guy based on his name (Edward) and orginally was going to give the kid up for adoption. Like, had these people paying all her bills because they were going to get the baby. Then, in August she suddenly decides having a baby WOULD be cool after all (a cookie for anyone who can figure out the twitard significance of that).

I haven't reported the newborn screens since. I might be damaged...but I can only imagine how hard life is gonna be for the little girl.

Now, see what you've done, Stephenie Meyer?

You made a 15-year old girl hook up with a guy named Edward just because his freaking NAME was Edward, and made her name her kid Renesmee Bella Stephenie. Holy Merlin!

Can you imagine what life the poor girl will have when she grows up?

Her adopted parents will be all: "Oh, Nessie, will you come here for a while?"

I've recently been downloading this programme called Graboid that lets you stream videos of movies and tv shows onto your computer, with a teensy weensy allowance of only 4000MB (free) per month.

Of course, being the TV maniac that I am, I watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, on both OKTO and Nickelodeon. However, it looks like I'll have to refill my little nutshell of a brain.

So, I went to download the Graboid thing, and I currently have almost ALL the episodes of ALL seasons. :) However, the Graboid doesn't actually provide episodes of 2x09 onwards up to the end of Season 2, so I'm catching them on TV.

And I've realised that there are many funny, hilarious quotes. Amongst my favourite is this:

Jet: The captain's been eating like a king while we refugees eat the leftovers.
Iroh: What kind of king is he eating like?
Jet: The fat, happy kind.
Iroh: *drools*

You should've seen his expression. Pure gold.

Also, I've gotten Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Of course, I've finished it. And what makes it special is that it was illustrated by J.K. Rowling herself and Albus Dumbledore has notes on each stories. The Warlock's Hairy Heart is especially gruesome and not for the faint-hearted, such as my sister. :)

I won't spoil the book for you, since it's limited edition, but I think most hardcore fans have already read the summaries that Amazon posted up when they bought one of the original ones for over a million pounds, which is more than 3million SGD.

Evidently, I wished that I had purchased the collector's edition, but it's USD100, so obviously I was unable to afford it. It's really nice, with a disguised book slip and everything, with gemstones and a nice little bag to come with, and VERY limited, only available from Amazon and nowhere else.

I've been epically failing on my resolution to finish reading all my books, since reading fanfiction and watching TV has made me a go wack. So, I've only thus far finished The Alchemist. Which is epically failing, once again.

And the HP CL PS, of course. Acronyms rock. B)

I still have For One More Day, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns and Tuesdays With Morrie, not to mention the rest of the HP set. However, I am already done with 70% of the 6A Chinese Textbook.

Call me kiasu, I don't mind. My tuition teacher advised to whole class to study the 6A textbook beforehand and, my mother made me. End of story.

Sarcasm rocks.

Also, Avatar: Legends of the Arena is a really fun game, that involves bending! I'm an Airbender in there, and the moves are really cool, though the graphics are not the BEST, I'll ignore that PAINFULLY OBVIOUS fact since it's in 3D.

I've been abandoning Maplestory shamelessly. It's getting addictive and I hate those Mateons, even if I have to risk losing my (not yet acquired) Golden Moon Shoes.

I think we've all heard of the recent stories of the Thailand riots and India's Terrorist Attack.

To Lo Hoei Yen, who has sadly died in those acts of terrorism in the hands of terrorists, and to all those others who have died but deaths no less regretted, take a moment to mourn their absence from this world.

I don't know much about the Thailand riots, so let's skippedy-skip over to the terrorist attacks.

The terrorists have bombed not only the Taj Mahal Hotel in India, but also several other places. But the hotel is the one that would have most influence, and being biased the media mostly did coverage on the hotel.

We shouldn't not only be mourning the loss of the first Singaporean who died at the hands of terrorism, we should be mourning ALL of those who died. Why is it Singapore only learnt our lesson now?

As deceased Mad-Eye Moody would say: CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

All much more important qualities for people (or characters) to have than beauty. Beautiful people aren’t ALWAYS good, you know. In fact, more often than not it’s the exact opposite.

I tolerated Twilight right up until the point Edward (more specifically, his chest) was described as "incandescent".
Now, I get that he's shiny, but incandescent? Like incandescent light bulbs, incandescent?
I agree with all the complaints seen in previous posts, but this was the straw that broke my camel's back.
I support Harry Potter, for it does not make me cry by abusing the English language so.

okay this goes out to all of the harry potter fans (that are guys anyways) if you actually had any sense at all you would read twilight, and use the lines Edward uses in this book. Trust me a guy read it and tried the "I'm tired of trying to stay away from you" line on one of my friends, and they have now been dating for a while. I disagree with you harry potter fans out there who critcize twilight so badly, how can you say all that when probably more than half of you haven't even read the book? I would have to say compared to the other three books, twilight does suck as far as action goes, but it is just a great story. I can't really sit here and talk crap about HP cuz I've never read any of them, but I've seen the first movie, and it's just not something that holds my interest, so I think I can't really vote for either of them because I haven't read HP to compare them so therefore I AM TEAM SWITZERLAND. (its a twilight thing)

I know this may not be considered much of an achievement, but I

finally freaking finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in CHINESE!

And now I'm starting on Chamber of Secrets. I just hope my Chinese'll improve.

Their names are really weird though. Like De Bu Li Duo = Dumbledore and such.

I shouldn't be talking about maple... but I unfortunately am. I'm at level 40 (Cleric), right now, mainly because of Monster Carnival, which is loads of fun. :D

I'm also trying to read my English books that I've bought, but I can't seem to find the time, with my insomnia and whatnot.

Now, I'm about neutral on the whole HP vs Twilight thing, especially since I have not yet had the time to finish Breaking Dawn. I skim over Bella's books 1 and 3 anyway.

But many people seem to think that only boys read HP and only girls read Twilight - well, people who are ignorant, anyway. And for once, I'm going to pull another book into this: Artemis Fowl.

I lent a friend Artemis Fowl (you guys don't know her), and she said that it mainly appeals to boys. However, I don't think so. I am a girl and I have thoroughly enjoyed Artemis Fowl, and so has many other girls like Anthea and Rebecca and even Yi Xuan.

Just because there's more action, violence and adventure doesn't necessarily mean it only appeals to boys and not girls. Maybe it might repulse you if you're a girly, pampered girl who is afraid to jump and wrestle in mud and but have mud facial treatments every week.

Harry Potter, on the other hand, appeals to both genders: there's the romance to satisfy repulsive girly girls and enough action and suspense for boys. Personally, I think that the Harry Potter series has all the different genres chocked together into one huge snowball of Horror, Romance, Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Thrill, Drama, Family and Friendship.

And also, the plot is also very exciting and well-thought out, and there is much action, just like an actual movie, but this doesn't mean it only appeals to boys.

Twilight mainly appeals to girls, I agree. Typically because the story revolves around the forbidden romance of Edward and Bella, and there's lots of mushy and gooey stuff like "his pale, lavender lips were shut", so most boys are repulsed by it.

However, I know that many boys actually do read Twilight - some of them are guys, but that doesn't matter. Since I know that my own cousin, who's evidently a boy, has read Twilight. Maybe they have read Twilight and liked it or hated it, but they still have read it. And thus this proves my reasoning that books can appeal to all genders!

(Although for Twilight, I agree that there might be some jocks out there who hide in the janitor's closet during free period to squeeze in readings of Twilight, so they can seem manly.)

However, despite my belief that all books appeal to all genders, I don't think all books appeal to all ages.

For example, Twilight is mainly for teens aged 13-21 who look for something to read, and for some girls it's the only novel they'll ever read.

Harry Potter defies my belief, but I agree that it appeal to people aged 6-60, although I don't think people below 10 should be reading Goblet of Fire, with the murder and Barty Crouch Jr.'s story and whatnot. How will you explain to them the intricate plot? Granted, they'll be reading the book themselves, but whatever.

Artemis Fowl is perhaps for people aged 11+, because of the intense action. There is a lot of suspense and adventure in that stories, and they'll probably have a hard time getting used to their favourite elves being police cadets.

Still, I cannot picture a 9-year old reading the part in Breaking Dawn where Edward has to perform a caesaran section on Bella, and not throwing up.

Recently I've also reverted back to Mapling, but I guess it's not that much of a big deal since now the exams are finally over and we can sit back, relax and eat our "chee kueh". I've reached about level 25 in less than one week, and my name is "ProphetBrown" in Eridanus. Magician, if you're wondering; I'm planning to be a cleric.

And I'm in Shanghai - don't ask why, it's pointless - and I managed to actually kill a Giant Centipede, which has about 19000HP and is a level 50 monster. It gave me freaking 1780EXP and a ton of mesos...

So hereonout, Giant Centipede, I worship you.

It's November 3rd, a very important day for most of the world. Mainly Americans, though.

And what is it that oh so glorious day that everyone has been awaiting? Election Day. Of course, it's rather obvious by now that if America chooses the wrong President, then he will make the wrong decision and that decision will affect the rest of the world.

Namely, Singapore and all the other countries.

Also, I've received my exam results; I'm not quite happy with my Science and Math, but quite satisfied with my languages.

And I watched 90210. It's alright; no comments, now.

Personally, I won't say who I support, since my vote doesn't count. However, in an article in Reader's Digest, they have conducted a survey which said that around 90% of the entire world supports Obama rather than McCain; however, only about 50% of Americans support Obama.

So you see from the survey that if the election was for "Superior Earth President", then Obama would win over McCain by a landslide.

And though I have said that I am not biased as to who I prefer, I'm leaning towards Obama, since he promises to end the war in Iraq successfully and knowing that McCain has a history of supporting all of George Bush's decisions.

Also, if Obama wins, then the Democrats will finally have the White House after 8 years. Still, some people might still be idiotically prejudiced about having a Black President, but I don't think it really matters. Seriously, do you have to judge who is able to steer forward your country by the colour of their skin?

Although, I'm not in a position to say any of the above, seeing as I'm not an American, nor about 18 (or is it 21?). I respect everyone's choices.

Well, at this point, if you have not yet finished reading the Harry Potter series you might be puzzled as to the extent of asking yourself: "Who the hell is Kingsley Shacklebolt!?"

If I may, Kingsley Shacklebolt is a Ministry of Magic staff (quite high-ranking too, I might add). He is also a valiant member of the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society founded by Dumbledore (weird old flawed guy with long beard) that is determined to rebel against Voldemort (tall, thin guy with slashes for nostrils and no mouth/lips). After the fall of Voldemort, he took over as temporary Minister for Magic and later on was a permanent replacement. :)

So, you might be asking why have I received that message?

I've come to the conclusion that receiving emails from fictional characters is very cool and is vital in making you happy. =D

I took part in something called Muggle Quidditch 2.0, and I found out about it via a thread on MuggleNet.com, a renowned Harry Potter fansite. So, I signed up, and there were a series of tricky clues and obstacles before I found the actual website. Yes, I cheated and took the answers from other people's brains. So what?!

Thus, I received this email. The whole plot about this thing is that Ludo Bagman, a character who gambles, has been captured by the goblins because he owes them money. So, these people at Muggle Quidditch 2.0 want to save Ludo, and also want to "show the world what Muggles can do" (quoting Kingsley Shacklebolt).

So, what can you do to take part in this event?

Last night, I went to the Super Awesome Mega Spectacular Magnificent Wonderful Movie Craptastic Clinic, because I was repeatedly coughing like mad, and I had a throat infection. Then I found out I had a high fever (as in, 39 degrees) and I had to take Panamol and 7 other different crappy, bitter medicines.

And thus I missed the Maths examination. Not that I'm complaining, of course. Also, I managed to download Open at the Close by OBatR. Yay me.

I called GT, and she said that the Maths paper was freakin' hard. Now I'm bordering on being ecstatic that I wasn't there. Oh, and she has gotten two 5-mark questions wrong so far. I really am wondering who actually set the Maths paper this time round.

I'm feeling really downcast/depressed right now; it's really cold despite the fact that there's no reason to be cold.

I basically spent the whole day hidden in a corner, sleeping.

Also, I've recently gotten really into Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, a.k.a. OBatR. They are a wonderful band and definitely rank in my top 5; this guy, Christian, has a great voice and their acoustic songs are simply wonderful and pleasing to the ears.

My recommendations:

End of an Era - It's about how Deathly Hallows will come out, and the series will end, and everything will stop; how are we going to feel? This song simply describes it all in vivid detail, and the melody is superb. The acoustics are marvellous, and Christian's voice is suitable for these types of songs. The tune is upbeat and cheery as well, but with a tinge of sadness to it, just like how everyone felt when they received their copy of Deathly Hallows.

Open at the Close - You'd probably know this scene from Deathly Hallows, which is Chapter 34: The Forest Again. It is one of my favourite chapters in the book, and it depicts how sad and how selfless Harry really is; it truly is a touching moment. Also, I went to my mum's colleague's house today, and I played a little Guitar Hero for the first time in my life; and I've got to admit, it's pretty fun. And I got 72% on my first try. :)

Right now I'm looping "Open at the Close" over and over again on Windows Media Player; and also End of an Era. OBatR, along with MoM and the Mudbloods, are my favourite bands right now.

I'm working on a set of MSN icons (100x100) as well, so keep a good watch on there.

Also, I've finished both Lost Colony and Time Paradox, both of which were wonderful. It's written in about the same style as Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling - alternate between humorous and Dark moments, which lightens up the mood. You know, I'm really starting to admire Eoin Colfer.

J.K. Rowling and Roald Dahl both have first and second place respectively on my "Spectacular Books Podium", so Eoin Colfer will come in third. Along with Phillip Pullman and Mitch Albom. And all other people who wrote classics. And J.R.R. Tolkien.

I feel dumb right now, mostly due to the fact that I have a giant cookie stuck in my mouth.

My neopets account, prophetbrown, got suspended, so now contact me on my side until 24 hours are over: romancy. Stupid name, I know, but it's the best I've got.

Mere seconds before, he had rushed his wife, Lily Potter, along with his year-old son, up to the second storey.

His ruffled black hair was even more ruffled and messy, and beads of sweat were trickling down his brow. His glasses were lopsided, but he did not care.

He was coming, he knew. That was all he knew. He had to protect them.

The night was relatively calm and quiet, except for the occasional hoot of an owl or rustle of trees. It was a dark night, and the moon was hidden behind dense clouds, stars not visible in the night sky. The only light source available were the flickering street lights that were highly unreliable.

It didn't seem to anyone - well, anyone who was normal - that it would be a night for murder

Yeah, I'm plugging an awesome Wrock band, Tom Riddle and Friends, with an image of Voldemort + Friends. Also, check out The Mudbloods, another awesome band that I highly recommend.

Also, I've gotten my three latest Artemis Fowl books! Now I know how people feel when they receive Harry Potter :D I've finished Opal Deception, and I'm working on Lost Colony.

I really wish I was older, so I could discover HP earlier and feel the thrill of having received Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. :) But I guess... somethings are just meant to be.

My friend on Vertai, Joan, says that my fanfic Majestique is nice, and she's going to continue it. Because I abandoned Twilight.

I'm trying to write my own original story here... but no. There just had to be a writer's block. I want something like fantasy. Because, let's face it, it's cool to have your own world with wands and wizards and shiny little balls with smoke inside of them. And don't forget brooms. Always, brooms.

And whose fault is it that millions all over the globe have lost tens of thousands of dollars?

Banks.

Greedy banks, I mean. Some banks are good and some are bad; like the way Harry Potter is good and Twilight is bad.

These banks they lend out money to people who definitely cannot afford to pay back the loans, and so they confiscate these people's houses. Upon confiscating, they thought that the house price would just go up and they could sell it, but, look! Two years later, the house prices are pummeling. Thus, they sell these loans as assets, and when they are unable to sell the houses, they have no money and declare bankruptcy.

Hm, a bank declaring bankruptcy.

And what's more, the bank is The Lehman Brothers, a bank which has a rich history of over a hundred years, and survived two world wars as well as one civil war. Looks like the 21st century proved too much for them.

So, why are they so greedy nowadays? It's because of us. We spend to much electricity, oil etc. and make the prices go up - inflation, they call it. And thus, everyone needs more money and we all turn greedy.

Now, if you've been keeping watch on what's on the news, they'd probably be reporting on how bad the world is, and how it is crumbling. You would've noticed that Moscow's stock markets dropped by a whopping 15%, and all other countries followed suit, their markets crumbling and plunging to the bottom.

If you're a kid, and your parents buy some shares in the stock market, you might hear them screaming blue murder about the fact that they have probably lost a lot of money within the incredibly short span of a few months. If you yourself buy shares, you'd probably hear yourself complaining loudly like one of your own nagging Aunts, disgusted at yourself for being an exact imitation of a whiner.

But, don't place the burden on yourself.

The financial world is crumbling, and everyone is complaining. Governments have tried to help, but all of us know that it'll be a heck of a long time before any company manages to climb their way back to the top. And even then, the scabs and scars will still remain.

I guess the unemployment rate, not just in Singapore or USA, but around the world, matters a lot as well. Without employees, many people are jobless, and of course that affects the average economy of a country, especially if it is a young or developing one.

Now, you might notice that my entries are very long nowadays, and that more often now, I blog and talk about current news like Obama or McCain, the crumbling world etc., but I feel that these news are something that everyone can relate to.

So you see, just because of one bank - and it's a very established one at that (think of how many have lost their jobs, and have no sushi to eat!) - the whole world would shatter.

Earth would die.

I've created a new Neopets account, mainly for the guilds. :D

I'm prophetbrown on there, and I go under the name ET. So, if you just happen to have a Neopets account, n/f me.

It's my first attempt at something hardly... abstract-ish, so forgive me if it hurts your eyes. I don't really know how to explain the colour scheme; it started out as beige and pink, after which I added black patterns and it became blood-red. But I kind of like it.

I've got some exciting news. :D My father asked me to design some posters for him, and it'll be on display at some exhibition which I know not of. I'm pretty sure that Borning Day won't touch others as much as it does me, it's mostly a private, personal day for me.

I'm almost finished with Pride and Prejudice; I've gone past the part where Lydia elopes with Wickham. Did I mention their names are totally Nerdfighter-ish? Wickham, Darcy, Fitzwilliam...

I've got practically no recollection of today; it's been pretty quiet around our school compound, as the PSLEs are currently ongoing. I wish all candidates luck!

I'm thinking of creating a LJ community... Which I have no idea should be about what.

Tomorrow's E-Learning day, so everyone from ATS, brace yourself for a mountain-high pile of homework... metaphorically.

Right now, I'm typing in HTML format, which is much cooler. And I changed the comments into a Haloscan thing, so anyone can comment. Isn't that cool?

I'm also furniture-hunting for a new desk so that my poor Harry Potter boxed set cover doesn't have to suffer the wrath of notebooks and assessment books being crammed into its body, rupturing its arteries and veins.

Also, I've got pretty much a heck lot of books that I'm planning to finish, which I'm procastinating:

Pride and Prejudice: I've finished about three-quarters of it, and it is quite advanced, what with the huge amount of vocabulary included, but I guess I've managed quite a fair amount.
The Alchemist: It's a much talked about book, and I'm itching to try it out... after I'm done with Pride and Prejudice, of course.
Artemis Fowl Books 4-6: I haven't gotten these three books yet, but I'm going to purchase them at Borders, because Popular doesn't have them. (Oh, and if you want to imagine the actual list with all three books separated, just imagine it in your mind.)
Breaking Dawn: It's been pretty much negativity hovering around this book, but yes; I want to truly see how bad it is.
Tales of Beedle the Bard: This hasn't come out yet, and it will when December 4th arrives, but... I'm too excited to care about any delays.
Looking for Alaska: This is a book by John Green, one half of the vlogbrothers on YouTube, and I love their videos. So, I want to read it.
An Abundance of Katherines: Again, another book by John Green. It seems that people really do enjoy his books.

Part 2: F1 (Yes, I know I didn't put the heading for F1, but... I was lazy!)

F1 was quite boring; it was hard to follow, and I had to do my homework, didn't I? I did.

It was rather... noisy. I marvel at the fact that hundreds had shown up just to have their eardrums completely demolished.

Maybe there's just some attraction in being able to become deaf like Beethoven? Perhaps so.

No, I'm not going to blog about the fact that the first Singapore Olympic/Paralympic Gold Medalist winner came to our school for an interview.

I've only gathered some information, and I'm 99% sure they're absolutely wrong: Massa went from 1st to 15th, Alonso won, Hamilton is overrated.

Are those facts true? I don't rely on Wikipedia anymore; sorry, Wiki folks. -tips hat-

I'm such a slow person. Only now I know that Hamilton is dating Nicole Scherzinger.

wizarding world theme park + nerdfighter

Most have probably nver heard unless they regularly check Harry Potter fansites, but there's going to be a theme park based solely on the Harry Potter world.

It's going to be opened from, as Universal Studios announced, end of 2009 to early 2010. And I desperately want to be there for the opening!

It's in Orlando, Florida though. I actually thought it would be placed in the UK, or at least somewhere in Britain, but I think Harry Potter is becoming too American-ised; probably because Universal Studios is based in the USA. But, still, you have to admit that Harry Potter originated from Britain.

I saw the concept art, and it was really cool.

Yeah, I'm kind of bored.

Here's a random fact: when I had bad eyesight at the age of six and saw double, I thought I had superpowers!

I'm reading Pride and Prejudice, and it's really nice so far, I quite like it.

We went to the Science Centre today to go for some DNA workshop where we worked with bacteria, which was kind of cool. We got to put on laboratory cloaks and we had to spread the bacteria all over the agar, and tomorrow on Tuesday we'll be able to find out the results of the antibiotics' reactions to the bacteria.

It was kind of fun, actually; we got to work with all sorts of different equipment, like micropippetes that measured microlitres. Which are super-tiny.

We went to MacDonalds, where it was packed to the brim. All the 5A-ers (who did something on DNA and crime-solving), well, the girls anyway, they were all at the counter. It seemed to be that the MacDonalds hadn't opened yet, but the boys got their food anyway; probably by their teacher.

I bought Nuggets and Milo, and Ada gave her Happy Meal toy - a Star Wars action figure - to Gerald Ang, who gave it to Feng Rui.

The whole trip, we were talking of the Buddy Reading trip, which was uh - memorable, to say the least, that happened two years ago.

On the bus, there was this huge bump and everyone's stomachs flipped over, with shocked yelps filling the bus. And we realised that Kenson left his whole bag at McDonalds.

In Supplementary Kenson was sleeping, literally. The whole class laughed like crap.

And, I've got Ada hooked on Prisoner of Azkaban, even though she hasn't read the first two books. :D

I've downloaded even MORE Wrock songs from the Internet, free! :D

And they're all superb. I've also watched live Wrock concerts on YouTube and they seem very hyper and enjoyable - I WANT TO BE THERE! But it's in America. -breaks down-

Especially Kristina from the Parselmouths, who is one of the FiveAwesomeGirls; Jason Munday, whom I think she's close with, is from THE AWESOME Ministry of Magic.

The Wrock communities and bands seem very close-knit, and I love that; they also do many collaborations.

I've found out about the previous Harry Potter conferences (which were super-fun, according to attendees): Terminus, Portus, Phoenix Rising etc.

Upcoming ones:
Azkatraz 2009 will be held from July 19-21 2009 in San Francisco, and though I yearn so much to go, I can't, as first of all it's in USA, it's my PSLE year, and I have to go to school. I hate when the other countries have Summers and we don't.

Infinitus 2010 will be held from July 15-18 2010 in Orlando, Florida at the Universal Studios, where the Harry Potter theme park is :D I really want to go, but seeing as it is in July and not June - which I hate them for, by the way - I am unable to attend.

However, if I ever get to attend a Harry Potter conference in the future, I'll try to drag my friends along.

Sorry, I was just freaking out just now.

Our exams are nearing us, in about two weeks' time, and that for me is pretty soon. Anthea's already finished the Deathly Hallows, but she has not yet to return me Prince. Which I detest. :D

Also, I've just been re-obsessed with Wizard Rock/Wrock again. Wrock is defined, by me, as a music movement where fans of Harry Potter write songs about the books. Commonly and most often, they perform in libraries so as to encourage the reading of Literature.

I like quite a number: The Weasel King, Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, RiddleTM, Ministry of Magic and Danny Dementor. Each group in the over 500+ bands community has their own unique style that appeals to many, and though their music styles are different, they are a closely knit community, and not just a music genre.

You should consider listening to them, and you can look for those bands on Youtube or Myspace and listen to their songs for free. I especially like:

RiddleTM - Look at Me

However, everyone should check out all the bands.

Some people give up after taking a listen to Harry and the Potters or Draco and the Malfoys; I liste to those bands when I'm in a goofy mood, because frankly, their music is not that good, even though they're the most famous. They're the most famous, I think, is due to the fact that they were one of the first Wrock bands. Those with good music are the less-known ones.

The lyrics are touching, for all those listed above. I'm planning on buying their CDs off iTunes. xD

I've just made a new skin, because I was bored.

Tomorrow, which is a Friday, the P3-P5 pupils have a free day in their hands, though the teacher probably piled on mountains of homework on everyone. I know ours did. We've got:

- 28 Pages of Math

That is rather a lot, I reckon, for a three-day holiday, especially when on Saturday I've got to go on a BiCEP excursion.

I think my mum's going to sign me up for that PSLE preparation course by Hwa Cheng Tuition Centre; it seems likely.

Also, most should know that the Mid-Autumn festival is coming up. My family's either travelling short-distance to Lower Peirce or Bishan Park. I, personally, prefer Lower Peirce, because there's a reservoir, and it'd be great to see the moonlight bounce off the tortoises. xD

I've successfully installed Microsoft Office onto my new laptop. :D

Ever since Harry Potter ended (insert dramatic sigh), I've picked up Artemis Fowl, which is rather good to tell the truth. It's almost the exact opposite, but there's more action and it's more solitary than Harry Potter, though it's also within the Fantasy genre that I'm currently scrutinizing.

But nothing will replace Harry Potter in my heart. Not even J.K. Rowling's next novel. Maybe.

I hate the ending of holidays. Bleh. We're going to have exams soon, and I think I'll start revising two months in advance.

I've been rather obsessed with fanfictions.

Yes, I've reverted back to this, eh, professional, style.

For example, I've recently got Jasmine hooked on a story called Boredom. Go to her blog, or click here, to read it. Even if you don't read Harry Potter (or any other literature classic, for that matter), you will enjoy it and laugh till your heart jumps out.

Also, here's another fanfiction that I think will induce some laughter: Once Upon a Freakin' Time. It's about a series of oneshots concerning Voldemort and his Death Eaters - which are his followers' titles. It's really hilarious and you'll laugh even though you've never been hooked on Harry Potter.

Here's another title that I think most would enjoy; it's a one chapter story: Lord Voldemort and the Internal Revenue Service. It's a super-hilarious oneshot that everybody would, I feel, enjoy; ask your parents, if they don't have an accountant, is that how they react!

I've also been rather obsessed with Wrock; Wrock means Wizard Rock. It's really catchy, and I especially enjoy the music of Ministry of Magic. Some of my favourite songs are Snape vs. Snape, The Hero, Ascendio, Accio Love etc. Seriously, you should give Wrock a shot!

Yes, they have their own music movement; that's how popular Harry Potter is. Ha.

I haven't finished my homework, but my goal is to complete them all before the weekend hits us. I still have Learning Point and Hwa Cheng tuition this week, to make up for the "National Day holiday" or somewhere along those lines.

I just received the marks for my Mathematics CA2.

I got 98 points; which, indeed, is it that remarkable an achievement?

No, I think not. Charis and Ryan have got full marks, but they're just about the only ones in our class who did, seeing as most of the higher-ranged 90s fumbled to the bottom due to careless mistakes.

I made two truly silly mistakes. Calculation errors.

Well, I count finishing a Mark Twain novel as an achievement.

And also getting Anthea hooked on Harry Potter. And I'm still unsure as of how I'm going to bring GoF as well as OotP to school for her to read, seeing as they're both 600 pages thick. Just the previous day, Kenneth borrowed it from the school library and it was so thick he couldn't fit it through the book slot to return it.

Yes, Anthea still wants the books. She hasn't even returned me CoS yet; not even PS!

But luckily for me, I'm reading Mark Twain, because if I wasn't, I would go all crazy-woman mode on Anthea. Yes, I just finished Tom Sawyer and I'm working on reading Huckleberry Finn as well as re-reading The Prince and the Pauper.

Jasmine had a fever yesterday.

Kemerly scored a 93 on the Mathematics exam.

Ada went to the dentist's yesterday, accompanied by Anthea.

Today, I went to Jasmine's house; I'm going to make this clear now: this entry will be full of vivid descriptions that might bore you, but read it anyway.

I had arrived at Jasmine's house a bit later than usual, but I arrived anyway, and that was the point of it, wasn't it?

Anthea the Weird was already there, and they were doing their homework to while away the time. It was kind of distressing, doing homework while we should be out basking in the sun and kicking sand at each other. Still, Jieni hadn't arrived yet.

When she finally came, she bolted into the room with her books and a pencil box clutched in a hand. Jasmine had told me that she had been in Ai Tong previously, but due to her dislike for ugly schools, transferred to St. Nicholas, where the standard was much higher (she had told me).

We went to the playground, did homework, and lied to MC on Jasmine's MSN that Jasmine was in love with CHIAPO, whoever that was...

And we randomly chose an online girl named SHEILA, told her Jasmine was going to marry Hong Kit, and asked whether she wanted to be Jasmine's bridesmaid or flower girl!!

Yes, today, yet again, I wish to indulge myself in self-fulfilling long words.

We went, after school, to the Toa Payoh Senior Citizens' Center; and my nose itched a lot. Poor nosie.

Also, during class, I wrote a damned long-winded Fanfiction. Yes.....

I recommend Powerpuff Girls! for anyone who's interested. :D

And the Citizens' center was alright I guess... there was some moody ones though. Very unfriendly.

I really have no idea what music to listen to now, which is strangely depressing.

I'm so sorry for neglecting this blog for a week. Really.

Anyway, for you to catch up: my mum happily bought me an acoustic, C80 model guitar. It's a classic, and I know it's not much but I'm really appreciative and not to mention ecstatic. I can play Bubbly by Colbie Caillat now, a little. The fingerings are still a little funny to me, but I can handle it though. And she bought it for me because I'm the fourth in class.

Also, I'm very recently obsessed with Harry Potter. Just bought the whole set of HP books, AND not to mention all the current HP movies that are already out, all the way from Sorcerer's Stone to Order of the Phoenix. All together they cost - $132 + $60 = $192. Also, I paid for it myself, so I'm proud to be independent... sort of.

I've also found out about a brilliant Harry Potter fanfiction/continuation, which centers around Harry's son, James Sirius Potter. The website is Elderscrossing.com, and the story title is James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing. You can download the whole story in PDF format there. I just finished reading it, and it was wonderful. It talks about Harry, James, and even Merlin. *gasps*

The story is quite popular, and the sequel is coming out, but the author, G. Norman Lippert doesn't gain any money from writing these stories. Rowling's lawyer has forbid Lippert from doing so, as well as from publishing the book in a hardbound copy. Though, I have to admit, that Lippert is now on my list of favourite authors.

The soon-to-be-out sequel, James Potter and the Curse of the Gatekeeper. The website, GatekeepersCurse.com, only shows a short teaser trailer, and the story is not yet out. I personally cannot wait till it is released!

I'm also hoping to start a new site, hopefully named Asteresque. I've made the enter page bulletin board already, so lets hope for the best! I've just applied for hosting at TheDreamBox.org, and a reply has not yet been returned.

Other than the above mentioned, I'm also thinking of writing a story about a girl and her guitar. It sounds cheesy, I know, but I think it'll work... maybe.

Oh, I also named my guitar 'Dobby', named after the loyal and devoted house-elf in the Harry Potter series. It's so sad that he had to die in such a cruel, Muggle-fashion way. *weeps*

Did you hear about the Cheng Du Earthquake?

I betcha did.

Since I was assigned to visit Cheng Du for a school trip, it is now cancelled and they want me to visit Xi An instead, but I don't want to. The only flaw? Missing this trip, they won't let me quit BiCEP!

Also, today I helped out the debate team - Chevi, Ada, Abbie, Yu Jie and Darryl Seow - do research on 'Are maids better than mothers?' To make matter worse, our class is doing proposition; but we all know that mothers are the best. So, I wrote a line:

Mothers nowadays put food on the table and provide the family with income, whilst maids not only clean the house and look after the lone children, they also give companionship and happiness.

Which is true, because some mothers neglect their kids and maids act as their friends, or Dr. Phil.

By the way, Lorraine, Miqi and Jazzy (Jasmine) came over and we played i.e. rollerblading, badminton, slow-motion catfight, computer-ing.

When my sister came home (and Lorraine had left), I threw the inflated globe at her. Yay me.

Anyway, if you're curious about my marks, I'm quite happy with some, and upset with my Chinese and Higher Chinese:

Finally, today, Jasmine paid me back my money. Which I am kind enough not to charge her interest for for almost a year. Miqi's a witness.

Technically, she didn't pay me back. Hilary did.

So, I was in this bookshop when I saw Hilary and Jasmine, so I went up to Jasmine and asked her when she was going to return me the damned money, and Hilary started asking how much she owed me, and she paid me back.

But now Jasmine owes Hilary $5.10.

So, Jas, bwahahahha.

On a daily basis I would probably have taken Maths as a sidekick subject, but today I was freaking out like a mad woman. The reason being I got 78 for my last one. :(

But surprisingly, today was much much easier than CA1. Here's a question, if you can solve it:

The body of a toy dinosaur is made up of its head and tail. The head is 8cm. The tail is 8cm and 1/3 of the body length. How long is the dinosaur?

It's really easy!

I would give you another one but it's very easy too! I sigh.

Knowing that I have my Chinese paper tomorrow, I should probably be revising right now.

And I've written a new song called "Wake Me Up When September Ends". Yes, I know there's a song called that by Green Day. My song is named after that song, but it's completely different. And not rock.

And one more thing- I got ECLIPSE! And the hardcover edition, too. It's a little mushy and war-like, but I guess it's alright...

I feel a strong need to read Breaking Dawn.

I want to go to Science Club tomorrow, but somebody just has to put the Oral Exam on that fateful day. It's unorthodox. Simply, simply, unorthodox for such a creature to make us miss our CCAs. Dammit, eh?

Anyway, we had our CL and EL Paper 1 today. I'm peeved. Why? Because just when I start the CL Paper 1, my e-dictionary just had to choose then to break down, and a line kept bouncing back and forth. What is the problem with those dudes at CREATIVE? For the EL, I chose question 3. It's something about a lost wallet during P.E. lessons, so it was kind of easy. I think. It's my mentality.

I'm really tired and I haven't done a single bit of my homework so I'm going to get started now. See you soon.

Today, we- Miqi and I- told Jasmine the secret. Here is roughly, the process:

When JAYKA was in the canteen, we bought our own food- I got yoghurt, whilst the rest decided to settle on jelly. See, I'm the healthy one here.

Soon after I finished yoghurt-ing, Miqi came up to us and talked for a while and I told her that Jas wants to know the gigantic humongous trizillion secret. After much debate and arguement and changes of heart, we finally let her in.

We pulled Jasmine out from the now JAKA and whispered in her ear. When Yijing and Gwynnie tried to interrupt, we pushed them back. I'm not sure did we do it gently or firmly though. And Miqi started whispering the whole thing that happened.

After Miqi finished, which took approximately 2 minutes, and after I reminded Jasmine that she still owed me $6, Jasmine yelped.

Not yelped, actually- rather, she screamed. Or "eep"-ed.

She tried to run away, but Miqi and I pulled her back first to issue her a warning. Because if she tells anybody- anybody at all- we will all get eaten by giant fish that drop out of the sky all of a sudden; it's crazy but hey, it could happen.

That was a brief account of what actually happened.

And during P.E. I told Fang Yu and Rebecca that Jasmine was in love. With Edward Cullen. I am also in love with Edward Cullen.

And no, I am definitely not paying you five dollars, Super Potato.

bwahahaa. I love starting off by pissing Jasmine because she hasn't returned me my precious six dollars yet.

Also, I'm working on a story called Monarche. I've finished the first chapter of 20 pages, and am now proudly working on the second. :D -beams proudly-

I know, I'm a peacock. But I would prefer to be an ocelot or a panda bear.

And then now, I would like to talk about this:

And now, I would like to say some wise words about Twilight: In the movie, Edward said Spider Monkey.

At first, I thought. Okay.... But then, I laughed out loud like a maniac. No, like a hyena. No- like a maniac hyena. Spider Monkey?! It's a monkey with really really long limbs. Glad? See, reading my blog just taught you science.

Like I told you, I'm writing a story, so here's an... excerpt:

On my way back to the house, I decided to take a detour, and absorb my surroundings, so I took the highway.
It was a long ride, about twenty to thirty minutes, and it was a rarely used road, so there were no cars except mine.

I could see the waterfalls, the beautiful landscapes I had missed while in New York. The greenery around me was astounding.

Suddenly, my car swerved left. I tried so very hard to turn it back on trail, but it just wouldn’t. It kept spinning out of control, until I felt my head knock on something, hard.

And I blacked out.

For those who are not fellow budding writers like me; this is a cliffy. Which translates into cliffhanger. Which means anticipation. Oooh....
